				<title>Youth Wrestling</title>
				<link>http://www.mywrestlingroom.com/blog/index.cfm/2006/8/3/Youth-Wrestling</link>
				<description>

I was debating writing a series of articles on youth wrestling. Having done the youth tournament circuit for a number of years, I figured my experience would be something worthwhile to communicate. Well I came across a great resource written by Bill Campbell of USA Wrestling. After reading this, I decided to postpone my efforts since Bill has done such a great job of providing parents with a really great guide on youth wrestling.

The guide is about 30 pages and covers many topics. Here is an excerpt:

?Of the more than 80 sports tracked by the NFHS (National
Federation of High Schools), wrestling is the sixth
most popular and consistently draws well over 200
thousand high school participants each school year.
Wrestling is also alive and well at the collegiate,
national, international and Olympic levels. Those not
directly involved with wrestling do not see or
experience this first-hand. If you did not come from
a wrestling family and have not wrestled or been
close to someone who has, then your perception of
the sport was most likely formed from things you
have heard, a few matches you may have seen in
school, and some of the associations you might draw
with so-called professional wrestling.?

Of all the things you will learn from this Wrestling Guide is that wrestling, like no other sport,
instills character, traditional values of hard work, sacrifice and accountability in your child.
